Collodion POP Variations

Matte collodion is a common variation of [glossy] Collodion POP.  Matte collodion prints have a paper support, very thin baryta layer, a collodion binder, and a silver image that is usually toned with gold and platinum. They have a semi-matte surface sheen, excellent image stability, and can range in image tone though the most common is a near neutral tone. For more details, see the “Matte Collodion” identification page. Other processes that have a collodion binder include wet plate collodion negative, ambrotype, and tintype.
